Miniature Double Diver (Two Male Figures)

Two male divers perfectly balance each other in an acrobatic stance, crafted with a regal finish in bronze and gold leafed caps. The body of the divers are arched into a sensuous C-shape almost defying the rules of physics, and speak to the artists understanding of the golden mean: an ancient mathematical equation epitomizing balance and proportion. The form is a perfect example of what eighteenth-century art theorist William Hogarth called 'the line of beauty': that curving serpentine silhouette found in all things naturally beautiful.

This serene figure head captures a moment of blissful transition as the subject either emerges from or sinks into a body of water. Feuerman’s sculptures have a presence that is both contemporary and classical. While it is not uncommon for hyperrealist work to seem cold and unapproachable, Feuerman’s bathers are balanced and calm, and unexpectedly intimate and inviting. The painstaking process of layering paint and resin takes many months to complete, resulting in a realistic finish and meticulous detail.

The relaxed and contemplative nature of this figure reflects the artist's desire to create harmony, health, and grace, believing that these are all attributes we strive to find in our daily lives. This lifelike figure soaks up the suns rays in what Feuerman calls "The Posture of Power" Christina is equally feminine and delicate, but powerful and liberated as well. The bright one piece and high heeled sandals express a bold sense of self in a feminine fashion.

Serene and tranquil the swimmer sits in a meditative state, unaffected by the glistening drips of water still lingering on her skin. Carol A Feuerman's sculptures portray hyper realistic characters with natural expression and depth of emotion. Each sculpture is meticulously rendered with every vein, eyelash, and water drop expertly placed. "Balance" evokes a sense of peace and presence in the moment.

A stunning, lifelike sculpture depicting a female figure in a swimsuit and swim cap in contemplation of a found object. A pioneer of hyperrealist sculpture, Carole Feuerman aims to create visual manifestations of the inner balance and beauty of women; known for her large-scale sculptures of swimmers. “Swimming and water have fascinated me for as long as I can remember, and as a result, have become the essence of my inspiration for my pieces,” she has said. Feuerman has spent the last four decades sculpting monumental, life-sized, and miniature works in bronze, resin, and marble. Her labor-intensive sculptures involve working on the piece both in wax and bronze, later applying multiple coats of primer and paint in the foundry, and finishes in the studio.
